I want to understand the properties of triangles. Can someone explain what makes a triangle isosceles and give an example?

An isosceles triangle is a type of triangle that has two sides of equal length and two equal angles opposite those sides. The third side, called the base, may be different in length. Isosceles triangles are often studied in geometry because of their symmetrical properties and frequent appearance in design, construction, and natural formations.

An isosceles triangle is a triangle with two sides of equal length and the angles opposite those sides also equal. This symmetry gives it unique properties used in geometry and trigonometry. The third side, called the base, may differ in length, and its opposite angle is the vertex angle.
