The 5E Lesson Plan is a teaching model designed to promote active, inquiry-based learning through five phases: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate. It begins by capturing students' interest and connecting to prior knowledge (Engage), followed by hands-on investigation (Explore). Then, students explain their understanding, supported by teacher input (Explain). They apply what they’ve learned to new situations (Elaborate), and finally, their learning is assessed (Evaluate). This model encourages critical thinking, deeper understanding, and real-world application of concepts.
