What is the meaning of magnitude in physics?

I keep hearing the term "magnitude" in my physics class, but I'm not sure what it exactly means. Can someone explain its definition and how it’s used?

In physics, magnitude is the size, strength, or amount of a physical quantity, independent of its direction. It provides a numerical value that measures a property like speed, force, or length.

In physics, magnitude refers to the size or quantity of a physical property, such as force, velocity, or displacement, without considering its direction. It shows how much of something is present.
