What are General Learner Outcomes and how are they used in education?

I’ve come across the term “General Learner Outcomes” in curriculum planning. Can someone explain what they are and how they guide student learning?

General Learner Outcomes (GLOs) are broad skills, attitudes, and values that students are expected to develop, such as critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. In education, they guide curriculum design, teaching strategies, and assessment to ensure students gain holistic knowledge and life skills.

GLOs are wide learning objectives that outline the intended outcome of a student, including critical thinking, communication, and personal responsibility in courses.
