How do you measure ROI in professional learning programs?

My organization invests in training, but we’re unsure how to track results. What metrics or tools do you use to measure learning impact?

ROI (Return on Investment) in professional learning programs is measured by comparing the benefits or outcomes of training to its costs. This typically includes evaluating:
  1. Participant satisfaction (surveys, feedback)
  2. Knowledge gain (pre/post assessments)
  3. Behavior change (classroom implementation)
  4. Student outcomes (achievement, engagement)
  5. Financial impact — ROI = (Benefits−Costs)÷Costs×100(Benefits − Costs) ÷ Costs × 100%(Benefits−Costs)÷Costs×100.
