Can someone explain the nitrogen cycle in simple terms?

I’m trying to understand how nitrogen moves through the environment. A basic breakdown would help!

The nitrogen cycle is nature’s way of recycling nitrogen. Nitrogen moves from the air to soil, plants, animals, and back to the air through processes like nitrogen fixation, decomposition, and denitrification, ensuring life gets essential nutrients.

The nitrogen cycle is the process by which nitrogen moves between the air, soil, plants, animals, and bacteria. Nitrogen from the air is converted by certain bacteria into forms that plants can absorb through their roots. Animals then get nitrogen by eating plants. When plants and animals die or produce waste, other bacteria break down the nitrogen compounds and release nitrogen back into the atmosphere, completing the cycle.
