I’ve heard that paraprofessionals support teachers and students, but I’d like to know more about their duties and impact in the classroom.

Paraprofessionals, also known as teacher's aides or assistants, play a crucial role in schools by providing support to both students and teachers, particularly in special education settings. They work with students who have disabilities, assisting with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Paraprofessionals also collaborate with teachers to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and modify or adapt instructional materials to meet students' specific needs.

Paraprofessionals support teachers and students by assisting with classroom management, individualized instruction, and special education needs. They help students with disabilities, monitor behavior, and provide one-on-one or small-group support. Their role enhances learning, ensures accessibility, and allows teachers to focus more on instruction. They're essential for inclusive, effective education.
