What does “SX” mean in medical terms?

I’ve seen “SX” used in some medical notes and reports. Can someone explain what it stands for and in what context it’s usually used?

In medical terminology, “SX” is an abbreviation for “symptoms.” It’s commonly used in clinical notes and documentation to describe the signs or complaints a patient presents with. For example, “flu SX” means flu symptoms. In some contexts, it may also mean “surgery” (less commonly), depending on usage.
