I’ve seen some people say Jamaica is part of North America, while others mention the Caribbean as a separate region. Can someone clarify which continent Jamaica actually belongs to and why?

The Caribbean Sea is home to the island nation of Jamaica. Geographically speaking, it is a part of the North American continent.

Although it is technically categorized under the North American continent, it is frequently referred to as being in the Caribbean or West Indies on a cultural and regional level.
