Structured Literacy is a method of instruction that focuses on the explicit, systematized instruction of phonology, orthography, morphology, syntax and semantics that is common in struggling readers or dyslexia. Science of Reading (SoR) is a body of evidence about the development of reading and student struggle based on research. Structured Literacy practices are informed by SoR, but also direct the design of curriculum, teacher training, and assessment, and Structured Literacy is a practical classroom practice.
