What are the different types of pulleys?

I'm learning about simple machines and came across pulleys. Can someone explain the main types of pulleys and how each one works?

The main types of pulleys are:
  1. Fixed Pulley – Changes the direction of force but doesn’t reduce effort.
  2. Movable Pulley – Moves with the load and reduces the effort needed.
  3. Compound Pulley – Combines fixed and movable pulleys for greater mechanical advantage.
  4. Block and Tackle – Multiple pulleys used together to lift heavy loads efficiently.

There are three main types of pulleys: fixed pulleys, which change the direction of force; movable pulleys, which reduce the effort needed to lift a load; and compound pulleys (block and tackle), which combine fixed and movable pulleys for greater mechanical advantage.

Pulleys are simple machines that lift loads by redirecting force via ropes over wheels. Main types include fixed (stationary, changes direction), movable (attached to load, multiplies force), compound (combines both for advantage), and block-and-tackle (multiple pulleys for heavy lifting).

The various basic forms of pulleys are fixed pulleys, movable pulleys, as well as compound pulleys. Fixed pulley, movable pulley and compound pulley differ in terms of reversing the direction of force, decreasing the amount of force required, and adding them together respectively to enhance the mechanical advantage and efficiency.

Pulleys are easy machines that assist in lifting the loads. These are fixed pulleys (change direction), movable pulleys (require less effort), combined pulleys (both the other), cone pulleys, and speed control step pulleys.
