How many feet are in a square foot?

Hi everyone,
I'm a bit confused—how many feet are there in a square foot? Is it the same as regular feet? Please clarify. Thanks!

Hi! A square foot is not the way of a regular foot. It is a difference of space, rather than distance. A square having a length of one foot on each side measures one square foot in a right angle. So it’s 1 foot × 1 foot = 1 square foot. You can never get inside and count the feet in it like real feet--it is only a method of telling the distance.

A square foot is a unit of area equal to 1 foot by 1 foot, so it contains 1 foot on each side, not a number of feet in length.

A square foot contains 1 foot. A square foot is the unit of an area that is 1 foot long and 1 foot wide.

A square foot is the area not the length, thus it does not have feet in a linear way. One square foot is an area of 1 square foot, which equals a square with a length 1 foot and a width 1 foot.

A square foot doesn’t measure feet in length. It measures area. One square foot equals an area that is 1 foot long and 1 foot wide, covering a total area of one square foot.

If feet were currency, a square foot would be like winning the lottery… but only if you live inside it. 😆 Basically, just think of it as a tiny square 1 foot by 1 foot.

A square foot is a unit of area, not length, so it equals 1 foot by 1 foot, or 1 square foot. It does not have “feet” in the linear sense.

A square foot is a measure of area, not length. By definition, 1 square foot equals an area of 1 foot by 1 foot, so it contains exactly 1 square foot of area, not multiple feet.
