I’m trying to plan my college courses and was wondering how many credits are typically required to graduate. Does it vary by program or school?

The number of credits required to graduate from college typically ranges from 120 to 130 credits for a bachelor’s degree. This varies by institution and program. Students usually earn around 15 credits per semester, with some additional requirements for general education, major courses, and electives to meet graduation standards.

Completing college or university will need a given amount of credits depending on the degree. Associate degree requires approximately 60 credits whereas a bachelors requires approximately 120. Master programs require 30-60 credits and the doctor degrees 60-120. A typical course costs 3-4 credits and full time students usually take 12-18 during a semester. These requirements are different by college and program.

The number of credits needed to graduate college typically depends on the degree and institution, but most bachelor’s degrees in the U.S. require around 120 to 130 semester credits. This usually takes about four years of full-time study. Associate degrees require about 60 credits. Requirements can vary by major and school.
