How do you find the slope of a line?

I need help understanding how to calculate the slope. What’s the formula, and can someone show a simple example with two points?

The slope of a line measures its steepness and is calculated using the formula: slope (m) = (y₂ - y₁) ÷ (x₂ - x₁), where (x₁, y₁) and (x₂, y₂) are two points on the line. A positive slope means the line rises, a negative slope means it falls, and zero slope indicates flatness.

The slope of a line is the steepness of the line, and the calculation is done based on the formula:

m=y2−y1x2−x1m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}m=x2−x1y2−y1
x1,y1(x 1, y 1)(x1,y1) and x2,y2(x 2, y 2)(x2,y2) are two points on the line.

When the slope is positive, then the slope increases from left to right and vice versa.
