What Is the Difference Between “To” and “Too”?

I often mix up to and too in writing. Can someone explain the difference between to vs too with examples?

The preposition "to" is used to indicate direction, intention, or relationship. For example, "go to school." The adverb "too" means "also" or "excessively." For example, "I want to go too," or "It is too cold."
