I’m learning to read music and came across references to different clefs. Can someone explain what the four main clefs are and how they’re used?

The four main clefs in music are the treble clef, bass clef, alto clef, and tenor clef. Each one of them indicates a different pitch range for reading musical notes.

The four main clefs in music are:
  1. Treble Clef – for higher-pitched instruments/voices.
  2. Bass Clef – for lower-pitched instruments/voices.
  3. Alto Clef – mainly used for viola.
  4. Tenor Clef – used for higher ranges of lower instruments (like cello, bassoon).
