Can someone explain how the SmartScore works in IXL Learning? I’m not sure how it calculates progress.

SmartScore IXL Learning is an assessment of a skill mastery by the student. The score begins at a low point and increases when a person has given the correct response and decreases when one has made an erroneous answer. A score of 100 will mean full mastery, whereas regular practice will create accuracy, confidence and progress.
