I'm trying to calculate the molar mass of sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃), but I'm unsure how to add up the atomic masses correctly. Can someone walk me through the steps?

To calculate the molar mass of sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃), add up the atomic masses of all its atoms:
  • Sodium (Na): 22.99 × 2 = 45.98 g/mol
  • Carbon (C): 12.01 × 1 = 12.01 g/mol
  • Oxygen (O): 16.00 × 3 = 48.00 g/mol
Now add them together:
45.98 + 12.01 + 48.00 = 105.99 g/mol

So, the molar mass of sodium carbonate is about 106 g/mol.
