How do I Cite a Book Properly?

I'm currently working on an assignment and want to make sure I cite my sources correctly. Could someone explain the general process of citing a book? Do the rules change depending on the type of book (e.g., edited, translated)? Thanks in advance!

To cite a book properly, use the format required by the citation style you're using. Here are examples in three common styles:
APA (7th edition):
Author, A. A. (Year). Title of the book. Publisher.
MLA (9th edition):
Author Last Name, First Name. Title of the Book. Publisher, Year.
Chicago (17th edition):
Author Last Name, First Name. Title of the Book. City: Publisher, Year.
