I'm trying to figure out how many months are in 180 days. Should I count by calendar months or just divide by 30?

Using the common 30-day month, 180 days equal exactly six months. On a calendar basis, months vary from 28 to 31 days. If you use the Gregorian average month length of 30.44 days, 180 ÷ 30.44 ≈ 5.91 months—about five months and twenty-seven days. For billing or business purposes, many organizations still treat 180 days as six months in practice.

With the ordinary 30-day month, 180 days are found to be at precisely six months. Months are 28 to 31 days at a calendar friendly basis. When you calculate the Gregorian average number of days in a month as 30.44, 180/30.44 = 5.91 months- or nearly five months and twenty seven days. Practically several organizations continue to behave as though 180 days is six months when it comes to billing or business intentions.

180 days is generally equal to 6 months, based on the common calculation of 30 days per month. However, actual months vary in length (28–31 days), so in exact calendar terms, 180 days is approximately 5.9 months. For practical use, schools and workplaces treat 180 days as 6 months.

The number of days one year divided by 30 days per month equals 180days; therefore, in the calendar system, one year approximates 5 months and 27 days.

Since (180/30 = 6), 180 days is roughly equivalent to 6 months when using the standard approximation of 30 days per month. Using the average Gregorian month of $30.436875$ days, 180 days is approximately 5.914 months.
